I often get asked the question "what exactly does vegan mean?" So, I'm going to clarify that for everyone right here!
A person who is vegan does not consume or use products that are part of - or derived from - an animal. This includes meat, fish, cheese, milk, eggs, leather, suede, gelatin, etc. Vegans often connect with their own deeper meaning for choosing this lifestyle, and in my case it is far more than a diet, it is a passion-driven way of living - that aims to make a difference for animals and the planet. Veganism differs from vegetarianism in that it excludes the consumption and use of by-products of animals, in addition to their flesh and meat.
Defined by The Vegan Society: "Veganism is a way of living which seeks to exclude, as far as is possible and practicable, all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose."
